Grades 1 & 2

Description: In this class, we’ll play open-ended games that emphasize creativity, listening, and critical thinking. We’ll look at animal rights by designing a humane zoo, consider a kid’s role in democracy, and play mini-mystery games to work on our logic skills.

All classes will include 6-8 students per class and we’ll of course take ample Wiggle Breaks so all our kiddos can get moving and stay active.

Course Details

Our Littles Program is for our first and second graders and classes are capped at 7-8 students. This quarter, we’ll focus on logic, perspective-taking, and active listening through a variety of fun games, silly exercises, and thoughtful topics. We’ll learn key strategies to use logic and creativity in our thinking and problem-solving and we’ll flex our empathy muscles as we grow our perspective-taking and listening skills. Our main priority is for our kiddos to enjoy what they’re doing, feel empowered to participate, and learn without realizing it. By using a play-based model and incorporating physical movement, silly prompts, and friend-making, we’re ninjas at fighting Zoom fatigue

Example Activity

Ruler of the Universe—a DIF fan favorite—enables kids to practice persuasion and creative thinking in a low-pressure and fun environment. Each child prepares an idea for the BEST new rule for the universe to follow. They’ll then go head-to-head arguing why their rule is better than a peer’s rule. The rest of the students (the constituents) will vote on which rule is the best and that Ruler remains in power until the next challenger comes up!

If Pricing is a Concern...

Here are two ways to meet you where you are!

The DiF-Ferral Program

You tell a friend about DIF, and let them know you’ll both get a discount if they sign up. When they insert your name on our registration form, we’ll issue you both a discount. And the more people that reference you, the more you save:

  • Refer 1-3 Friends - You'll get a 50% discount and your referrals will each receive a 20% discount.

  • Refer 4+ Friends - You'll get a 100% (full) discount and your referrals will each receive a 20% discount.

Flexible Pricing

When you sign up for a class and begin the payment process, we’ll ask if you’re in need of financial support. We’ll ask a few simple questions, request a supporting document, and then invite you to select what you’re able to pay with no further questions asked.
